On Thursday, there was a stir in the Intercity Express train going from Gorakhpur to Varanasi. As soon as the train arrived at Mau Junction late on Thursday evening, hundreds of RPF and GRP personnel laid siege and launched an intensive search operation in search of the bomb.
All the bogies of the train were thoroughly checked by conducting a search operation. The train was stopped and checked for half an hour. After investigation, the Railway Police team arrested a youth with a banned LPG cylinder in rail travel. The youth had boarded the train from Beltharrod station.
RPF in-charge Ajay Kumar Singh said that the accused youth has been arrested under section 165 of the Railway Act along with a banned LPG cylinder. It was reported from the informer at the RPF center at Mau Junction of Adarsh class that a youth had boarded the Intercity Express train going from Gorakhpur to Varanasi with a bomb.
Railway police swung into action as soon as the bomb was reported in the train. Hundreds of Railway Police Force under the supervision of RPF in-charge Ajay Kumar Singh surrounded the Intercity Express train at Mau Junction at around 7.30 pm, encircling it.
The Railway Police team along with the Civil Police conducted a thorough search operation in all the bogies of the train. During the investigation, a joint checking of SLR number 217256C of the engine side of the train was done, then in the said SLR, a sack near the toilet was seen with a gas regulator, a person was standing near him. When I went there were books, some utensils, gas regulator and a small cylinder of 5 kg in which about 1 kg of LPG was found.
The youth standing near that item was identified as 24-year-old Amit Kumar, son of Ashish Kumar, resident of Siswa police station, Jansa district, Varanasi. During interrogation, the youth told that the recovered items belonged to him. He works as a teacher at MMB College in Belthara Road, who was going from Belthara to his village Shivpur in Varanasi with his belongings. Arrested for carrying flammable material in railway area. On the other hand, during the police checking operation, there was chaos at the station throughout the day.
