After becoming an MP-MLA from BSP, Mayawati has now decided to give tickets to the assembly elections only to those who have a clean image, taking a lesson from the party’s humiliation due to criminal cases coming to the fore. The BSP chief has categorically asked the party office-bearers to take an affidavit of no criminal history before the ticket seekers. Three names each should be suggested for each assembly seat so that at the last moment there is no problem in changing them keeping in view the candidates and image of other parties.
In view of the assembly elections to be held next year, Mayawati is holding meetings with party officials these days. While cautioning the office bearers up to the district level from the handcuffs of the opponents, while the BSP chief is showing the way to ensure victory in the elections, it is also taking special care in the selection of candidates. Since Mayawati has already clarified that she is not going to ally with anyone in the elections, she has to decide candidates for all 403 seats.
According to sources, in view of the way some serious criminal cases have come to the fore after becoming MP-MLA from the party symbol, Mayawati, referring to her clean image, has instructed the officials that those who want tickets. Before the people, an affidavit should be taken that there is no serious criminal case against them including women harassment, kidnapping, murder. He does not have a criminal history. He is now acquitted of any previous offense. Sources reveal that the BSP chief has also asked the office bearers to propose three names each from the assembly constituencies for which the candidates are yet to be finalised. In giving a ticket to any one of these, along with his image, the hold in the area and the caste equation of the SP-BJP candidates will be seen.
