In western Uttar Pradesh, the police is not sensitive at all to check the crimes against women. Alam is that from whom women expect justice, they are being reprimanded. The latest example of this was seen in Meerut district. In TP Nagar area of Meerut, brother-in-law and brother-in-law raped the woman. When told to the husband, he also beat him badly. When she went to the police station to complain, the inspector slapped her and threw her out. Alleging all these, the woman has demanded justice. On Sunday, she reached to meet the SSP, but could not meet.
A woman resident of Aligarh was married on 27 June 2019 to a young man working as a transport in TP Nagar police station area. After marriage, the in-laws’ dispute with the woman started. The woman gave birth to a son, but the dispute did not stop. She was forced to live in a rented house with her husband. On November 12, the brother-in-law and brother-in-law came and asked for the jewelery offered to the woman in marriage. When the woman refused, the husband also started supporting his family members. After that the husband went out of the house.
It is alleged that after this the brother-in-law and brother-in-law gang-raped her and fled. When she told her husband when she came, he also beat her and went away after locking the house. The woman told that her brother-in-law had come to collect jewelery from her for his marriage. On the wedding day on November 16, the victim reached the police station and complained.
The woman says that the police sent her to the hospital, but did not get the medical done. On November 17, when he protested in front of the police in the police station, it is alleged that a policeman slapped him and threw him out indecently. On Sunday again brother-in-law, brother-in-law came and took away the son from him.
The woman had reached the police station with a complaint but she refused to give a complaint. Even now if she wants to take action, then complain in writing. Action will be taken against the culprits after investigation. – Vivek Yadav, ASP Brahmapuri
