Shamli A newly married man was arrested and sent to jail just days after his marriage for firing Harsh during his marriage. A video of the incident went viral, in which the groom sitting on a horse can be seen firing from a native katta.
Taking cognizance of the video, an FIR was registered at Babri police station in Shamli district.
After this, the local police was arrested and sent to jail.
The video was shot during the wedding on 24 November.
The police identified and located the person, after which it was revealed that he was a resident of Shamli.
Senior police officials said that the FIR has been registered under Section 286 of the IPC (careless conduct in relation to explosive substance) and related sections of the Arms Act.
Shamli Superintendent of Police Sukirti Madhav said, “A video was shared online by the groom shooting air from an illegal weapon. The accused has been arrested and the weapon used in the incident has been recovered.”
