After the Bhumi Pujan for the Ram temple by the Prime Minister, there was a hope among the effigy traders that this time the festival of Dussehra would be organized in a grand manner, but this could not happen at all.
Every year before Dussehra in Delhi, craftsmen from Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana used to come and make effigies day and night.
According to traders, the effigy of Ravana has been burnt in thousands in Delhi every year, but this time the traders have not received a single order. For this reason, all the artisans are sitting idle.
Pawan, 45, who made Ravana in Titarpur, has been making effigies of Ravana since the age of 12. He has been making Ravan of 5 feet to 60 feet every year. Not only this, Ravana created by him has been sent to Australia. Every year Pawan makes more than 50 ravans, which are transported to various places across the country for combustion.
Pawan told, “Every year till now I used to get orders from many places to make Ravan. But not a single call has been received so far this year. Due to Corona, our work came to a complete halt. We are on Dussehra every year He used to earn a full year. But this year could not be done at all. ”
He told, “My whole family has been doing this work, we all wait for this season. But this time we are all forced to sit at home. We are afraid of how the whole year will be spent and how we will spend our lives Will spend.
Pawan added, “Last year, the ban on firecrackers had an impact on our business, and I am paying the debt to this day. This year I had high hopes, because Ram Janmabhoomi was also worshiped, due to which we felt That Dussehra will be celebrated in a grand manner, but does not look like it. ”
Ram Gopal also makes an effigy of Ravana, he said, “Labor and artisans from Himachal Pradesh, Moradabad, Bareilly, Haryana, MP, Rajasthan used to come here and make Ravan. But this time all are present in their own state. . ”
He said, “We don’t have any other work to do other than this, nor can we do anything other than this. We eagerly wait for this time of season, this is why our family lives.” Let’s hope something about us. ”
Although Ravana is burnt every year in Delhi. But due to Corona virus, it is a little difficult to say whether the government will allow Ravana to burn on Dussehra or not.
