A very shameful incident has come to light from a college in Bareilly. Where a student got her periods during studies. When the student asked for sanitary pads, the staff threw her out of the class. Her clothes got dirty due to non-availability of pads. This embarrassed the student. The student’s father has demanded action.
The student’s father has complained in writing to the Women’s Commission and DM and others. After which the administration has become active in the whole matter and investigation is being done. At the same time, the principal of the college has said in the whole matter that he got the information very late.
In fact, a student of Guru Nanak Rikhi Singh Inter College of Bareilly got her periods while studying in the class. When the student demanded sanitary pads from the college administration, she was thrown out of the room. She was not given pads for an hour. After an hour, the student was asked to go home in the same condition. While going home, the student’s clothes got spoiled on the way and she had to face embarrassment.
The student’s father alleges that his daughter has been mentally affected. After not getting help from the college, his daughter came home crying. After reaching home, she complained to her parents. After that, the father has made a written complaint against the college administration to the State Women’s Commission, Women Welfare Department, DM and DIOS. He has demanded action after investigating the matter.
While giving information about the whole matter, the college’s principal Rachna Arora said that this happened during the vacation. By the time she came to know about it, the student had gone home. Being a women’s college, all the teachers in the school are women and everyone has pads. Why would it be denied? The whole matter is being investigated.
