New Delhi. The Union Home Ministry announced the Padma Awards 2025 on Saturday on the eve of Republic Day. 113 personalities will be honored with the Padma Shri Award. Out of these, 8 personalities are from Uttar Pradesh.
Shri Ashutosh Sharma will be honored with Padma Shri for his outstanding work in science and engineering. Apart from this, Ganeshwar Shastri Dravid is to be honored in the field of literature and education, Hriday Narayan Dixit for outstanding work in the field of literature and education.
Shri Narayan alias Bhulai Bhai will be posthumously awarded Padma Shri for his contribution in the field of public service. Apart from this, Satyapal Singh has been awarded Padma Shri in the field of sports, Shyam Bihari Agarwal in the field of art, Sonia Nityananda in the field of medicine, Syed Ainul Hasan in the field of literature and education.
Names of two people from UP for Padma Bhushan
Apart from this, two people from Uttar Pradesh will be honored with the Padma Bhushan Award. Shri Ram Bahadur Rai will get the award for literature and education (journalism) and Sadhvi Ritambhara will get the award for social work.
Names of travel blogger couple from Uttarakhand also included
Let us tell you that social entrepreneur Sally Holkar of Madhya Pradesh, Marathi writer Maruti Bhujangrao Chitampally, yoga teacher Sheikha AJ Al Saba of Kuwait, travel blogger couple Hugh and Colleen Gantzer of Uttarakhand will get the Padma Shri award.
Names of these giants in the list
Singer Arijit Singh, actor Ashok Saraf, classical singer Ashwini Bhide-Deshpande, singer Jaspinder Narula, founder of Vishwa Vidya Gurukulam in Brazil Jonas Masetti, Kishore Kunal of Bihar (posthumously) and cricketer R Ashwin have got Padma Shri.
30 unknown personalities also got the honor
30 unknown heroes including the country’s first female puppet artist have also been awarded Padma Shri by the Center. Bhim Singh Bhavesh, P Dattanamurthy, L Hangthing and Dr Neerja Bhatla have also been awarded Padma Shri. The names of Goa’s 100-year-old freedom fighter Libya Lobo Sardesai and West Bengal’s Dhak player Gokul Chandra Das are also included in the list.
What is Padma Award?
Padma Awards are given in three categories Padma Shri, Padma Bhushan and Padma Vibhushan. Personalities who have made significant contributions in the field of art, literature, social work, science, engineering, business and industry, medicine are honored with these awards. Padma Shri Award is the fourth highest civilian award of India after Bharat Ratna, Padma Vibhushan and Padma Bhushan.
