Collectorate, Vikas Bhawan and Police Office will be paperless from January
The sight of bundles of files on the desks of clerks and on the backs of orderlies of sahabs will now become history. The government has now decided to implement the e-office system at the district level as well. Initially, there is a plan to make the Collectorate, Vikas Bhawan and Police Office paperless from January.
For this, the networking work has been completed in the Collectorate by the National Informatics Center. About thirty percent of the work has started here on the e-office system. Arrangements for implementing e-system in police office are being made directly at police headquarters level. In Vikas Bhawan also, work of internet lease line and networking etc. for e-office system is going to start from next week.
Preparations have been made to make Collectorate, Vikas Bhawan and Police Office paperless from January. While this initiative will increase the speed and transparency of disposal of files, it will also encourage environmental protection. This will bring about a big change in the traditional working system of Collectorate, Vikas Bhawan and Police Office. Bundles of files will no longer be seen on the desks of clerks and on the backs of orderlies. This will prove to be an important step towards good governance.
Under e-office system, all files will be prepared and transmitted in digital form. Officers and employees will log in to their computer system, view the files, dispose them and forward them by digitally signing them. The time of forwarding of the file at every level will be automatically recorded in the computer. This will end the problem of pending files and will speed up the working system. Due to this, subordinate officers and employees are looking happy. Employees will not have to stand in line in front of officers to get their files signed. Now, they will not be responsible for the pending files.
Networking work is almost complete. Networking work has been completed in the Collectorate under the supervision of National Informatics Centre (NIC). Informatics Officer Anurag Jain said that about 30 percent of the work on e-office system has already started in the Collectorate. Necessary work to implement this system will start in Police Office and Vikas Bhawan from next week.
