A strange incident happened during a wedding ceremony in Sultanpur, Uttar Pradesh. When the baraat arrived here, the bride’s side welcomed it warmly. Then after the jaimala, the girl went inside and said that she cannot marry a mentally challenged boy. During this time it was found out that the boy had failed in tenth. The whole night there was persuasion between the people of both the sides, finally the matter reached the police and a settlement was reached in the presence of the police. It was decided that if the boy’s side returns the expenses of the Tilak, then the girl’s side will return the jewelry.
After this the baraat returned without the bride. The matter is of Mustafabad Kala village of Dostpur police station area of Sultanpur. According to the police, the marriage of a 28-year-old girl living here was fixed with a 30-year-old youth living in Akhandnagar police station area. This marriage was to take place on Sunday 17 November 2024. The baraat arrived on time and the girl’s side took good care of the baraatis. During this time, the jaimala took place and the girl went inside.
After Jaimala, the bride refused to marry
Here, when the girl was called for the next ritual after tea and snacks, she refused to marry. She said that she is a graduate and the groom is mentally challenged and has failed in 10th. On hearing this, there was a commotion in the wedding hall. The elders of both the sides tried to convince them all night, but the girl clearly said that she will not spoil her life by marrying an illiterate. When the matter was not resolved till the end, the girl’s side asked the boy’s side to settle the accounts.
Agreement was made in the presence of the police
Both the sides came face to face regarding this. Finally the matter reached the police and then it was decided that the transaction amount will be returned. The boy will have to return the expenses of the Tilak. After this, the girl’s father will also return the jewelry given for the wedding. After this the baraat returned. In this regard, the girl’s family refused to talk to the media. At the same time, the boy’s father said that this ruckus has happened for a pair of slippers and bangles.
