According to the police, accused Ajit had brutally murdered 6 family members one by one. He first shot his sister-in-law and then his mother. Later the accused also shot and killed his brother. The ruthless accused did not stop here, he tortured and killed Anurag’s three innocent children by throwing them from the roof. Police have recovered illegal pistol and cartridges from the possession of the accused.
Father had a loan of Rs 24 lakh
During police interrogation, accused Ajit told that his father Virendra Singh had died about a year ago. Father had a loan of Rs 24 lakh through Kisan Credit Card. Ajit had several disputes with Anurag and his wife Priyanka regarding who would repay his father’s debt. Anurag was educated but he was fond of alcohol. Due to this, Ajit felt humiliated in the society.
Brother refused to repay the loan
On the evening of 10th May, Ajit came to his village Palhapur. Here his mother Savitri Singh and sister-in-law Priyanka told him that Anurag is unable to repay the loan. Ajit got angry on this matter. He made a plan to kill his brother and sister-in-law. Khichdi was prepared at home at night. Ajit put 4-5 intoxicating pills in it. He started waiting for everyone to sleep after having dinner. He told the police that he only wanted to kill the brother and sister-in-law. He wanted to put the rest of the family to sleep by giving them sleeping pills. But his plan failed.
First the sister-in-law and then the mother were shot
Ajit told that all the members of the house had come from outside after eating food, hence no one ate Khichdi. Seeing this, Ajit went to his room on the pretext of sleeping. At around 2 o’clock in the night, he switched off the main switch of sister-in-law Priyanka’s room. Due to power supply being cut off, Priyanka started feeling hot due to which she came out. As soon as Priyanka came out, Ajit shot her dead. Hearing the sound of the bullet, his mother Savitri came upstairs. He murdered them too.
Brother was killed and children were targeted
Ajit went to his brother Anurag’s room. He also shot Anurag dead. Anurag’s three children woke up in the night after hearing the sound of gunshot. He saw Ajit committing murder. According to the police, accused Ajit tried to convince Anurag’s elder daughter Arrana, but she did not agree and started screaming. Seeing their elder sister shouting, the two younger children also started making noise. Seeing this, Ajit took all three to the terrace of the house.
False story created after the incident
Accused Ajit threw the three children down from the roof. All three children were seriously injured after falling on the ground. Coming down, he called his wife and told her the false story, then the accused spread the word to the people of the village that Anurag had killed the entire family and committed suicide by shooting himself. He had repeated the same thing during the initial police investigation also. Police have arrested the accused and recovered 315 bore pistol and 8 cartridges from him. Accused Ajit has been sent to jail.
This is how the police revealed the incident
Anurag’s brother Ajit had informed the police about the murder that took place on May 10. He had told the police that his brother Anurag is mentally ill and drinks alcohol. When his family members forbade him to drink alcohol, he killed his entire family and committed suicide. Police found the case suspicious during investigation. After the post-mortem report, the police’s suspicion turned into belief. The post mortem report revealed that Ajit had two bullets in his head.
After this, on the orders of DGP Prashant Kumar, IG Tarun Gaba reached the spot and started investigating the case. Due to the high profile of the case, its investigation was handed over to STF and Crime Branch. The police detained about 16 people and interrogated them.
