Lucknow. The State Tax Department of Uttar Pradesh has decided to take major action in the fraud case. After detecting an error of Rs 452.52 crore from Input Tax Credit (ITC), the department has directed to file an FIR as well as recovery.
The STF branch of the state tax department has detected a fraud of Rs 452.52 crore by disclosing a gang that took input tax credit (ITC) fraudulently. After such a big case came to the fore, the department has now given instructions for recovery by registering an FIR against the culprits.
Actually, there is organized tax evasion in the business of Iron and Steel Scrap in the state. Suppliers are playing a big game of fraudulently taking ITC. There is also connivance of departmental officers in this. Commissioner State Tax Ministry S has formed STF to check this. Its responsibility has been given to Additional Commissioner Arvind Kumar. After this, STF is continuously analyzing the data of the goods being supplied and action is being taken by catching rigging in it.
The STF found in the case of Iron and Steel and Iron Scrap that at the inter-provincial level, Uttar Pradesh including the National Capital Territory of Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Uttarakhand, Bihar, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra states. ITC has been taken by fraud. This includes 13 from UP, 64 from National Capital Region, one from Haryana, five from Punjab, one from Uttarakhand, three from Bihar, two from Jharkhand, one from Karnataka, seven from Kerala, five from Tamil Nadu, five from Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra. Has one dealer.
A total of 109 suppliers from 13 states are involved in this racket. All of them obtained fake ITC of Rs 452.52 crore on a total turnover of Rs 2523.64 crore. Due to this 718 traders have got the benefit of bogus ITC. The Commissioner of State Tax, along with sending the information of this matter to the Central GST Commissioner, has directed to take action against 73 such traders registered in UP, who have availed ITC of Rs 30.09 crore on the supply of 167.53 crore.
