Mahoba. On the instructions of the Human Rights Commission, a case has been registered against six people, including five police personnel, in connection with the third degree torture of a youth in Srinagar police station. The youth, who was caught in the theft case, was brutally beaten up in the police station, a sharp wire was inserted in the car and the condition of the critical limb had deteriorated and he was referred from Mahoba Hospital to Jhansi.
In the complaint sent to the Human Rights Commission, the victim Bharat Singh told that one night in Pawa village there had been an incident of theft in five-six houses. During its investigation, on the night of April 2, 2022, at around ten o’clock, at the behest of the village headman Hariom, the then Srinagar police station inspector Surendranath, constable Upendra, constable Rohit, constable Rajiv Yadav caught him and took him to the police station.
In the police station, the then in-charge Anil Kumar and the soldiers beat him with sticks and sticks. Poured hot tea on the body and put a sharp wire in the delicate part and ear. Due to this the ear veil was torn and he was kept in the police station till April 3 and was beaten up. When his condition deteriorated, he was taken to Mahoba District Hospital on the evening of April 3, from where doctors referred him to Jhansi.
After this, the family members did not take him to Jhansi and took him to Kanpur Hospital. He had complained about the incident to the then SP but no action was taken. He complained to the Human Rights Commission and demanded strict action against the accused. On the instructions of the Human Rights Commission, a case has been written against Principal Hariom alias Pappu, Inspector Surendranath, constable Upendra, constable Rohit, constable Rajiv Yadav, police station in-charge Anil Kumar under sections 147, 148, 342, 326, 323 and 308 at Srinagar police station.
