New Delhi. In the first qualifier match of the Indian Premier League 2022, the new team Gujarat and the champion team of the first season will face each other. For the first time since the play-offs started in 2011, Rajasthan has finished in the top two while this is the first season of IPL for Gujarat which is a good thing for them as they don’t know anything about the pressure. Talking about the Gujarat team this season, except the opening pair, they have never changed much in the team and this is the secret of the success of this team. In this match too, there is little hope that the team will make more changes.
The team has the opening pair of Gujarat in the form of Wriddhiman Saha and Shubman Gill. In the last match, Saha had scored 31 runs but Shubman Gill’s non-scoring of runs is a matter of concern for the team. In the big match against Gujarat, both of them will have the responsibility of getting the team off to a good start.
Gujarat’s middle order – Captain Hardik Pandya is the life of the team in the middle order. Apart from this, David Miller, Matthew Wade and Rahul Teotia will be responsible for taking the team to big scores and finishing the match. Tevatia has been finishing matches for Gujarat in the past as well.
The team has three excellent fast bowlers in the form of Gujarat’s bowling- Mohammad Shami, Lucky Ferguson and Yash Dayal. Shami will have the responsibility of getting the team wickets in the powerplay. Talking about spin bowling, the team has two bowlers in the form of Rashid Khan and Sai Kishore. A lot will depend on Rashid Khan’s performance whether the team goes straight to the final from here or has to play another qualifier.
Probable playing XI of Gujarat-
Wriddhiman Saha (wk), Shubman Gill, Matthew Wade, Hardik Pandya (c), David Miller, Rahul Tewatia, Rashid Khan, Ravi Srinivasan, Sai Kishore, Lucky Ferguson, Yash Dayal, Mohammed Shami.
Talking about Rajasthan, on the other hand, Jos Buttler, who is at the top of the Orange Cap list, is a matter of concern for the team. Rajasthan team will expect another big innings from him in this match.
The team has the best opening pair in the form of Rajasthan’s opening pair – Yashasvi Jaiswal and Jos Buttler. The good thing for the team is that in the absence of Butler in the last two matches, Jaiswal has done a good job and the team has won. But in this big match, the team will expect a big and attractive innings from Butler.
Talking about the Rajasthan-Rajasthan middle-order, apart from Saju Samson, the team has a lot of batting in the form of Devdutt Padikkal, Riyan Parag and Ravichandran Ashwin. The team has a great finisher in Shimron Hetmyer.
Rajasthan’s bowling- The team also looks strong in bowling. In the form of Trent Boult, the team has such a bowler who can prove to be dangerous for any team in the opening overs. Apart from this, the famous Krishna and Obed Mekay are bowling brilliantly in the death over. Talking about spin bowling, Ravichandran Ashwin and Yuzvendra Chahal are in the team.
Probable playing XI of Rajasthan-
Yashasvi Jaiswal, Jos Buttler, Sanju Samson (c & wk), Devdutt Padikkal, Shimron Hetmyer, Riyan Parag, Ravichandran Ashwin, Trent Boult, Pranand Krishna, Yuzvendra Chahal, Obed McCoy.
