New Delhi. This is not the first time that a dispute between the country’s cricket board and the players has come to the fore. Something similar happened between Indian Test captain Virat Kohli and BCCI and it spoiled the reputation of Indian cricket. Many former Indian players and cricket pundits put their opinion in front of everyone regarding the dispute between Kohli and BCCI. Now another new name has been added to the former captain of Pakistan cricket team Shahid Afridi in expressing his opinion in this matter.
Many former Indian cricketers and experts feel that the communication between Kohli and the BCCI should have been better. Some people also hit out at Board President Sourav Ganguly for coming in the middle of the matter and said that it should have been resolved between the selectors and the captain so that no controversy arises. Now former captain of Pakistan cricket team Afridi said that Afridi while talking to Pakistani news channel Sama TV said that the selection committee and Kohli should have discussed the matter before making this news public.
He said it could have been handled better. I have always felt that the role of a cricket board is very important and that of a father. Whatever future plans the Board’s selection committee has in relation to a player, the player is informed about it. Plan for that player, such as ‘Look, we have these plans, what are your plans? As a board, we want to do this and we are also told about the benefits of doing so.
Afridi further said that if you communicate these things through the media, then there will be problems. Talk face to face, and only then can the problem be solved. If you keep pulling at it it will not resolve. The former Pakistan all-rounder said that there should not be any communication gap between the players and the PCB or any board as it makes things worse.
