Prayagraj. The Allahabad High Court has suggested postponing the assembly elections in view of the increasing influence of the new variant Omicron of Corona in the country and abroad. The court requested that the political parties are gathering huge crowd in the rallies for the assembly elections to be held in Uttar Pradesh. The Prime Minister and the Election Commissioner strictly prohibit election rallies. Political parties should be asked to campaign through electronic media and newspapers. The court made it clear that the Prime Minister should also consider postponing the election, because if there is life, there is a world.
This order has been given by Justice Shekhar Kumar Yadav while granting bail to accused Sanjay Yadav, who is in jail under the Uttar Pradesh Gangbang Act. A case is registered against Sanjay Yadav in Police Station Cantt of Prayagraj. While granting bail, the High Court said that today about four hundred cases are listed before this court. Similarly, cases are listed before the court every day, due to which more number of advocates are present. Due to this, the physical distance standard is not followed in view of Corona. At the same time, patients of Omicron, the new variant of Corona, are increasing. This is likely to lead to a third wave.
The High Court said that according to newspapers, thousand new cases have been found in 24 hours of Omicron. 318 people have died in this. In view of this epidemic, countries like China, Netherlands, Ireland, Germany, Scotland have imposed complete and partial lockdown. In such a situation, the Registrar General, High Court of Allahabad is requested to make rules to deal with this dire situation.
The High Court said that the number of corona infected had increased in the elections to the Gram Panchayat of Uttar Pradesh and the Legislative Assembly of West Bengal. Many people have died in the second wave of Corona. Here, again the assembly elections of Uttar Pradesh are near. For this, political parties are mobilizing lakhs of people in rallies and meetings. The Kovid-19 rule is not being followed anywhere. If it is not stopped in time, the result can be much more dire than the second wave. In such a situation, if possible, postpone the elections to be held in February for a month or two.
The High Court said that the campaign launched by the Prime Minister for free corona vaccination in a country with a huge population like India is commendable. The court requests the Prime Minister to take strict steps in view of the situation of this dreadful epidemic. The court has directed to send a copy of this order to the Registrar General, High Court, Allahabad, the Election Commissioner and the Central Government.
