Lhasa | Bhutan Prime Minister Lotte Tsering on Saturday congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the Kovid-19 vaccination campaign in India. The Prime Minister of Bhutan made a tweet wishing the public good health. In his tweet, he said, “I congratulate Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the people of India for the launch of today’s nationwide COVID-19 vaccination campaign. Hopefully we will get relief from the sufferings caused by the epidemic.”
India on Saturday launched the world’s largest Kovid-19 vaccination program. Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a campaign aimed at ending the epidemic, due to which 1,05,42,841 people have been infected and 1,52,093 people have lost their lives so far.
Addressing the country through digital medium, the Prime Minister said that India has managed to produce two ‘Made-in-India’ vaccines in a very short time, which usually takes years.
Earlier this month, the Drug Controller General of India approved two vaccines ‘Kovishield’ and ‘Kovaccin’ for emergency use.
Oxford University and AstraZeneca have developed the ‘Kovishield’ vaccine, which is manufactured by the Serum Institute of India in Pune, India, while Bharat Biotech has created the ‘Kovaccin’.
