Chris Gayle of the West Indies will not be seen playing in the Lanka Premier League (LPL). The Gayle Candy Tuskers team consisted of Irfan Pathan, Munaf Patel, Kushal Perera, Kushal Mendis, Nuwan Pradeep and Liam Plunkt.
The Tuskers, however, reported on Wednesday that Gayle withdrew from the league for personal reasons.
The franchise wrote on its Facebook page, “Gayle has withdrawn from the franchise-based tournament due to personal reasons. The option of Universe Boss has not been announced yet.”
Gayle recently represented Kings XI Punjab in the 13th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). He had played seven matches for Punjab and scored 288 runs.
The Tuskers will face the Colombo Kings in the first match of the league starting on 26 November.
