New Delhi . On Wednesday, one of the four Posayaden 8i maritime surveillance and anti-submarine warfare aircraft received by the Indian Navy under the US $ 1.1 billion defense agreement with the US was received on Wednesday. Official sources gave this information. Sources said the aircraft is equipped with state-of-the-art sensors and the aircraft landed at Goa’s important naval base INS Hans.
The Indian Navy already has eight P-8I aircraft deployed to monitor Chinese ships and submarines in the Indian Ocean. In 2016, the Ministry of Defense ordered the purchase of four more such aircraft. Last year, the government approved the purchase of a consignment of six more P-8I aircraft.
