Dehradun. Unlock 5.0 After 192 days between the Corona period, the Uttarakhand Transport Department has started operating buses on Wednesday. The first day proved to be a profitable deal for the interstate transport roadways. An average of 25 passengers boarded each bus on the Delhi route. Not only this, operations have also started between Garhwal and Kumaon. Two buses operated from Doon to Haldwani, while buses started operating from Tanakpur, Haldwani and Ramnagar for Doon. Uttar Pradesh has also started operating its own buses. Uttar Pradesh operated its seven buses to Agra, Lucknow and Delhi from Doon. Passengers’ names, mobile numbers and destinations are being noted.
According to Roadways General Manager Deepak Jain, on the first day, a total of 90 buses from all depots of the state were operated on Delhi route. Passengers received good response for Delhi from Kashipur, Ramnagar, Haldwani, Tanakpur etc. including Dehradun, Haridwar, Rishikesh and Kotdwar. According to the general manager, buses will be operated on this system for two-three days. After that the buses will be extended on different routes. Buses will be operated for passengers where there will be demand. He said that buses have been allowed to operate only till Kaushambi (Ghaziabad) border of Delhi. Uttarakhand transport bus is not entering Delhi.
Buses of Uttar Pradesh will increase from today
Uttar Pradesh Roadways has said to increase the operation of its buses in Uttarakhand from Thursday. These include bus services like Bareilly-Haridwar-Dehradun and Saharanpur-Doon, Saharanpur-Roorkee-Haridwar, Prayagraj-Haridwar and Muzaffarnagar-Haridwar, Meerut-Muzaffarnagar-Roorkee-Doon etc. Buses of UP will also run from Rishikesh, Kotdwar, Kashipur, Haldwani to Delhi including Dehradun and Haridwar.
