Bengaluru Indian women’s hockey team midfielder Neha Goyal has insisted that winning the medal in next year’s Tokyo Olympic Games is the ultimate goal of the team. The Tokyo Olympics 2020 was scheduled to be held in July-August this year but has been postponed to next year due to the Kovid-19 epidemic.
23-year-old Neha said, “Our focus is only on the Tokyo Olympics at the moment. We have been working hard on our fitness for the last few months and will do everything possible to improve our game in the next few months.”
He said, “Winning the FIH Women’s Series Finals and winning the FIH Hockey Olympic qualifying tickets to Tokyo Olympics, 2019 was a great year for us. In recent years we have performed brilliantly against the top teams, making history in Tokyo “Our confidence has increased. It is our ultimate goal to win a medal at the Tokyo Olympics.”
Neha has played 75 matches for the Indian team so far.
He said, “It was really hard for me. I started playing hockey since I was in fifth grade. My mother worked hard day and night to get us enough food. So for my equipment It was very difficult to save some money. ”
Neha considers former India captain Pritam Rani Sivach as her inspiration.
Neha said, “As a child, I used to go to the local ground to see his game after seeing his photo in the newspaper. He asked me the reason for coming to the ground one day, then I said that I also want to play.”
