new Delhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Sunday that rural areas have shown direction to the entire country during the Corona period. Referring to the prevalent incidents in Jammu and Kashmir in relation to prevention of coronavirus infection, the Prime Minister said that many good efforts of local citizens and village panchayats of villages are continuously coming to the fore. The Prime Minister, referring to the works of Balveer Kaur, the sarpanch of Trewa village in Jammu during the ‘Mann Ki Baat’ radio program, said, “I am told that Balveer Kaur has built a 30-bed quarantine center in his panchayat. Water system on the way so that people have no difficulty in washing hands. Not only that, Balveer Kaur hangs a spray pump on his shoulder and does sanitation in the entire panchayat and surrounding area with Volunteer. ”
Modi lauded the work of Jaituna Begum, the sarpanch of Chantalivar of Ganderbal, another woman sarpanch of Jammu and Kashmir. He said, “Jaituna Begum decided that her panchayat would fight the war against Corona and also create opportunities for earning. She distributed free masks to the entire area. Distributed free rations. She also gave the seeds of crops and apple plants to the people. So that people do not face problems in farming and gardening. ”
The Prime Minister mentioned another inspiring incident from Kashmir. He said, “Mohammad Iqbal, the municipal president in Anantnag, who needed a sprayer for sanitization in his area. He came to know that the machine would have to be brought from another city which would cost six lakh rupees. Iqbal himself tried it for only Rs 50,000 Made the machine. ”
The Prime Minister said that during the Corona period, many such inspiring incidents unfold daily in every corner of the country. He said that the challenge was faced by the people and they have faced it with equal force.
