new Delhi. Diesel prices rose again for the second consecutive day on Sunday. In these two days, the price of diesel has increased by 30 paise to Rs 82 per liter in Delhi, while in Kolkata it has crossed Rs 77 per liter. However, there was no change in the price of petrol for the 27th consecutive day. Oil marketing companies increased diesel prices by 15 paise in Delhi, 13 paise in Kolkata and Chennai and 14 paise per liter in Mumbai.
According to the website of Indian Oil, the price of diesel has increased to Rs 81.94, Rs 77.04, Rs 80.11 and Rs 78.86 per liter in Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai and Chennai respectively. However, petrol prices in the four metros have also remained unchanged for the 27th consecutive day at Rs 80.43, Rs 82.10, Rs 87.19 and Rs 83.63 per liter respectively.
Diesel has become costlier by Rs 1.51 a liter than petrol in the country’s capital Delhi.
On the other hand, there has been no significant change in the price of crude oil in the international market in the past two weeks. The benchmark crude oil Brent crude price also closed at $ 43 per barrel on July 10 and closed at $ 43 per barrel on July 24 as well.
Benchmark crude oil Brent crude’s September futures contract on the international futures market Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) closed at $ 43.34 a barrel on Friday, up 0.07 percent from the previous session.
At the same time, the US light crude West Texas Intermediate (WTI) September delivery futures contract on the New York Mercantile Exchange (Nymax) closed up $ 0.34 per barrel, up 0.66 percent from the previous session.
