Hindi film actress and former Rajya Sabha member Jaya Prada’s elder brother Raja Babu has passed away. This news has been shared by Jayaprada herself. On Thursday, the actress shared a picture of her late brother on her Instagram. She also wrote a note in the caption and informed her followers about her brother’s death.
Jaya Prada got emotional
She wrote, “With great sadness I inform you about the demise of my elder brother Raja Babu. He passed away today at 3:26 pm in Hyderabad. Please keep him in your prayers. Further information will be shared soon.”
Earlier, the actress appeared on the singing reality show ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa’, and revealed that the song ‘Dafli Wale Dafli Baja’ was not originally a part of the film ‘Sargam’.
During the special episode, contestant Bidisha sang the songs ‘Mujhe Naulakha Manga De Re’ and ‘Dafli Wale Dafli Baja’.
Jaya Prada was so impressed with the performance that she was reminded of her Dafli Wale Dafli Baja days. The actress also shared some behind-the-scenes anecdotes related to the song.
She said, “I can’t put it into words but the way you sang this song reminded me of Lata Didi today. You are really amazing. In fact, I must say that it is not an easy song to attempt but you have sung it brilliantly.
Actually, the song ‘Dafli Wale Dafli Baja’ was not going to be a part of the film as we already had a lot of songs recorded and shot. But on the last day of the shoot, everyone decided to film it and we completed it in just one day.”
She added, “When it was released in theatres, people would stop the show and listen to the song again and again. It was a very special song for all of us and instead of being known as Jaya Prada, I was known for this song.”
