A case of attack on a constable and a home guard by two drunk youths has come to light near Sirsali village of Binauli police station area of Baghpat district. The incident took place when constable Chakrapal and the home guard accompanying him were patrolling during their duty. Suddenly a car hit their bike. After the collision, when the constable forbade the accused to stop and not drive drunk, both the youths lost their temper.
The accused attacked constable Chakrapal’s face with punches and kicks. This video of the assault was recorded by someone present on the spot and made it viral on social media. It is clearly visible in the video that the accused Nitin and Shailesh fled while abusing the policemen. The incident created a sensation in the area. The police started immediate action on the basis of the viral video.
The police arrested the accused
The accused were identified as Nitin son of Ranveer and Shailesh son of Girishpal, who are residents of Sirsali village. The police conducted an intensive investigation campaign and arrested both the accused. During the arrest, an illegal 12 bore pistol was recovered from them.
Baghpat police said that further action is being taken by registering a case against the accused under strict sections. Also, it will be ensured that the culprits of serious crimes like attacking policemen get severe punishment as soon as possible. This incident has once again raised concerns over the increasing crime in society and careless attitude towards the law.
Police say that such incidents will not be tolerated at any cost and strict action will be taken to maintain law and order. At present, both the arrested accused have been sent behind bars by the police and further legal proceedings are being completed.
