Saharanpur. Giving a message to the dowry seekers, an MBA pass youth rejected the dowry of Rs 51 lakh and completed the marriage ceremony for just one rupee. He told the in-laws that the biggest wealth is of the daughter who leaves her house and becomes the daughter-in-law of the next house. This marriage in Rajput society has set a unique example for the society.
On Friday night, Abhay Pratap, grandson of Mahavir Pundir, arrived with the baraat from Karnal, Haryana. Where his marriage with Ashok Rana’s daughter Gaura Rana was solemnized with great pomp. The marriage was conducted as per Hindu customs.
In the marriage, Rs 51 lakh was given by the bride’s side as tika. Which the groom Abhay Pratap and his relatives returned to the bride’s side very politely, calling dowry a social evil. Also, by taking only coconut and one rupee in dowry, he set a unique example in front of the society. By marrying without dowry, the groom Abhay Pratap has done the work of bringing glory to the village along with his relatives, and has also taught a lesson to the dowry seekers.

The groom Abhay Pratap says that the youth themselves will have to come forward to eradicate this evil prevalent in the society. In this wedding ceremony which was conducted with simplicity, the guests who came to bless the newlyweds praised the groom a lot. This decision of the groom is being praised a lot in the area.
The groom’s family is prosperous
Anil Pundir has two sons. The elder son Abhay works in real estate. Abhay has done MBA and helps his father in his work. Anil has a brick kiln in Nanauta area and also an HP Gas agency. The younger son Uday Pratap is studying business management in America.
Women were explained about their rights. Women Empowerment Campaign Mission Shakti Phase Five Anti Romeo Team made the women working in the fields aware by giving them detailed information about the schemes and programs being run for women empowerment and their safety.
Information about government schemes given to women
In-charge Inspector Narendra Sharma said that under the ongoing campaign for women empowerment awareness, the anti-Romeo team formed by him made the women working in the fields in village Dhaulapada aware about the various welfare schemes being run by the government, widow pension, Sumangala Yojana child welfare schemes, no child labour, good touch and bad touch etc. and also gave information about the various helpline numbers being run by the government, 1090 Women Power, 1076 Chief Minister Helpline, 1098 Child Helpline, 1930 Cyber Crime, 108 Ambulance Service, 112 Police Emergency Service etc.
On this occasion, SI Akshita Singh, Manorama Chaudhary, Constable Sarita Chaudhary, Nisha, Monu Tomar, who were part of the formed team, asked questions to the women and asked their problems and also distributed pamphlets.
