The bodies of three children who drowned in the Gomti river in Sultanpur, UP last evening (27 June) have been recovered. SDRF was engaged in the search of the body of the third child. After the bodies were found, there is chaos in the families of the deceased children. At present, the police have taken the bodies of all three in their custody and sent them for post-mortem.
Actually, the whole matter is of Vallipur village of Nahar Kotwali where Farhan, Hasnain, Rehan and Abid, residents of Panchonpiran Kasba village, left home to play late on Thursday evening. While playing, all of them reached the banks of Gomti river and started bathing in the river. Meanwhile, all these children started drowning in the river.
In this, Rehan somehow survived and came out of the river but the remaining three children drowned in the river. Rehan hurriedly reached home and informed his family members about this. After which the family members of the children who drowned in the water reached the spot. Police and a team of divers also arrived. The villagers gathered. The children could not be traced in the search operation that continued till last night. However, this morning when the local divers began searching for the children again, the bodies of Hasnain and Farhan were recovered near the Gomti River Railway Bridge. A few hours later, the body of the third innocent child was also found. On the request of the district administration, the SDRF team also reached the spot and was trying to find the innocent child.
Meanwhile, on coming to know about the incident, SDM Sadar Thakur Prasad, City Kotwal Shriram Pandey, Lekhpal Sunil Singh reached the spot. The SDM said that the search for the children is on. An SDRF team has also been deployed.
