In Banda, Uttar Pradesh, an officer of the Basic Education Department has been arrested by the Anti Corruption team while accepting a bribe of 10 thousand rupees. The victim principal of the government school told that the District Coordinator of the Mid Day Meal (MDM) scheme had given him a notice for making fake recruitment by bypassing the standards while recruiting cooks in his school. Then on responding to this notice, he demanded 10 thousand rupees and threatened to take departmental action if he did not pay. On which he complained to the Anti Corruption team. The matter is of the Basic Education Officer’s office.
But now the Basic Education Officer has said that the said accused was a contract worker. But now the question is that if he was a contract worker then who appointed him to such a big post and at whose instigation. A contract worker and that too the District Coordinator of Mid Day Meal? Meanwhile, the local people have also raised questions on the officers of the Basic Education Office and have made serious allegations.
Currently, the anti-corruption team has arrested the alleged district coordinator of MDM of basic education. The victim also alleges that the accused coordinator used to take commission on the mid-day meal given to the children, while the government is busy changing the condition of basic education by spending crores of rupees.
In fact, Ganga Sagar, principal of a government school posted in Naraini Vikas Khand area, had appointed cooks to prepare food for children in his school. According to Ganga Sagar, the said accused officer issued a notice citing bypassing the rules of employment. However, the victim principal retired a few days after receiving the notice. Since then, the accused was making him run to his office. Meanwhile, he demanded bribe in exchange for the notice.
On which the victim principal complained to the Anti Corruption Office. After the formation of the team, the alleged Mid Day Meal District Coordinator Bhaskar Aswani was arrested red handed from his office. After this, the team took the accused to Dehat Kotwali and took further legal action.
The victim principal also claimed that the arrested accused has been embezzling the money of Mid Day Meal for a long time and other employees/officers of the department are involved in this. Meanwhile, in this case, Inspector Rakesh Singh of the Anti Corruption Team said that retired government school principal Gangasagar had complained that after giving notice on the allegation of appointment of cooks in a fraudulent manner, money was demanded in lieu of disposing it. On which our senior officials formed a team and arrested the accused red handed from his office. At present, further legal action is being taken.
