Mirzapur. District President of All India Sahitya Parishad Rajpati Ojha along with his members handed over a letter to Municipal Chairman Shyam Sundar Kesari. In this, objection was raised on the Mirzapur web series tarnishing the image of the district.
Warning of agitation if the series is not banned
Objection was raised in the letter given by Mirzapur Dari, Carpet, Medical Association, All India Sahitya Parishad and Mahant of Shri Panch Dash Naam Juna Akhara. The organizations have demanded a ban on the series. They have warned to intensify the movement if the demand is not met.
The image of the district is being hurt
It was said that Mirzapur is an important district from literary, cultural and religious point of view. It has been the work place of eminent literary thinkers like Acharya Ramchandra Shukla, Premdhan, Pandey Bechan Sharma Ugra, Bang Mahila. It is the world famous holy place of Jagat-Janani Maa Vindhyavasini, with which the faith of crores of people is associated. At the same time, the image of the district is being hurt by the Mirzapur web series.
Violence, crime and gang war have been given prominence in the web series, which has had a negative impact on the image of the real Mirzapur. People have also started associating the district with similar crime and violence.
The young generation is being negatively affected. The third season is going to be released on July 5. Appropriate steps should be taken to ban web series season three. Poetess Srishti Raj, Anand Agrahari were present.
