He achieved this record while playing against Khulna Tigers at Zahoor Ahmed Chaudhary Stadium in Chattogram on Tuesday.

Earlier, West Indies bowlers Dwayne Bravo, Sunil Narine and Afghanistan’s veteran spinner Rashid Khan have taken more than 500 wickets in T20 cricket. Imran Tahir reached the 500 wicket mark in his 404th match.
Tahir’s magic was visible in the match
Experienced fast bowler Dwayne Bravo, Afghanistan legend Rashid Khan and Sunil Narine. Tahir, who will turn 45 in March, reached the 500-wicket mark in his 404th match. While playing against Khulna Tigers, he took five wickets. He took the wickets of Alex Hales, Enamul Haq Bijoy, Afif Hussain Shrubbo, Habibul Rehman and Akbar Ali. He took five wickets for just 26 runs in four overs.

Playing for South Africa between 2013 and 2019, Imran Tahir took a total of 63 wickets in 38 T20 matches, taking 2 four wickets and 2 five wickets in an innings. He never played for South Africa after the 2019 World Cup.
