A newly married woman died under suspicious circumstances in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh. The married woman’s parents have accused her in-laws of murdering her by strangulation. The parents allege that the daughter had last called and informed about the assault. At present, the police have taken the body into their custody and sent it for post-mortem. Police is investigating the matter. The in-laws are absconding after the incident.
The matter is of May Tirathpur village of Bhamora police station area of Bareilly. Vedpal, who lives here, alleges that he had married his 21-year-old sister Sunita to Pushpendra, a resident of Behat Hajipur in Amla police station area, three years ago. Vedpal told that at the time of marriage, she had given a lot of dowry to the boys’ family. It is alleged that after a few days of marriage, the husband started demanding car, cash and property as dowry.
When Sunita refused to fulfill the demand, she started being beaten. Pushpendra and his family members started beating Sunita every day. During the fight he used to demand dowry. When this did not work, he threatened to throw Sunita out of the house. Sunita was repeatedly trying to convince her husband but he was not ready to agree. It is alleged that Sunita was strangled to death by her in-laws including her husband for dowry. At present, the police have taken the body into their custody and sent it for post-mortem. The entire matter is being investigated.

The deceased Sunita had told her parents on the call that her in-laws were beating her and that they would kill her. As soon as her parents reached her in-laws house, Sunita died. The parents accused the mother-in-law, sister-in-law and husband of murder by strangulation. After Sunita’s death, her in-laws including her husband have fled the house. The police is waiting for the post mortem report. In the entire matter, the police station in-charge says that the exact cause of death will be known in the post-mortem report. If a complaint is received, a case will be registered.
