Fatehpur. The joint team of Bindki Kotwali in-charge Ravindra Srivastava and SWAT (Special Weapons and Tactics) first in-charge Vinod Mishra had an encounter with cow smugglers in the forest of Alamganj Majre Pratappur late on Saturday night.
Due to the retaliatory firing by the police, Pattishah, resident of Gotaskar Ansar and Saqib alias Chinta, got shot in the right legs of Hathgam, due to which both of them were injured and fell. The police laid siege and caught both of them, while taking advantage of the darkness, the third cow smuggler escaped.
The police recovered two pistols, two live and blank cartridges, bike, chappad, knife, stick from the spot. At the same time, the police saved a cow tied in a tree to be cut. Both the injured cows have been admitted to the district hospital. SP Rajesh Kumar Singh, who arrived after receiving the news, has given a reward of Rs 25,000 to the police team for commendable work.
Bindki Kotwali in-charge said that the cases of both the cow smugglers are being investigated as to which police station they are hist-sheeters. Action is being taken to seize the bike by registering a case under the Police Encounter, Arms Act.
Action will be taken against gangster: SP said that eight cases like Prevention of Cow Slaughter Act are registered against Goksh Ansar, who was injured by bullet, in police stations like Hathgam, Sultanpur Ghosh, Bindki, Aung etc., while Saqib has four cases. Strict action is being taken against those who kill cows as per the intention of the government. Therefore, action will be taken to attach their property by arresting them under the Gangster Act.
