Hamirpur. While overtaking the auto truck carrying passengers near Makrao on Kanpur Sagar National Highway on Wednesday evening, it collided with a mango-laden pickup coming from the front. Eight people including father-daughter, auto driver died in the accident, while nine are in critical condition. District Magistrate Dr. Chandrabhushan Tripathi, Superintendent of Police Shubham Patel reached the Community Health Center and took care of the injured.
Rajesh Kumar, resident of village Inghota of Sumerpur, was an auto driver. He was going to Sumerpur in his auto with about 17 people from Bada Chauraha. While overtaking the truck near village Makrao on the highway, the auto collided with a pickup coming from the front. Due to this the auto and pickup got damaged and overturned on the road.
Police took out the passengers and took them to the Community Health Center, where the doctor declared auto driver Rajesh son Prahlad, Ingohata resident Rajuliya wife Shiv Mohan, Shyambabu from here, his niece Ragini and daughter Dipanjali, Pachkhura resident Shyambabu as dead. Ingohata resident Mamta wife Shyambabu, seven year old human son Jai Kishore, Priyanka daughter Rajendra, princess wife Bhura, Pancha son Chunbad, one and a half year old Suryansh son Shyambabu, Kuldeep Verma son Chunabad, Neeraj son Raja Bhaiya of Sarsai, bank in Maudaha 19-year-old Vijay Kumar son Devratan Ram, resident of Murudhpur of Jhaua in Saran district of Bihar, who came to install CCTV cameras in the branch, Pramod son Vrinda, resident of Kharela, Mahoba, was referred to the district hospital in critical condition after receiving first aid. In this, Vijay and Pancha died on the way. After the incident, everyone’s eyes became moist due to the screams of relatives who reached the spot. At the same time, the pickup driver fled from the spot in an injured condition. The SP said, action is being taken by registering a case. According to the DM, all the injured are being treated properly.
Chief Minister expressed grief: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has expressed deep grief over the death of eight people in a road accident in Hamirpur by tweeting. He expressed condolences to the relatives of the deceased. Along with this, proper treatment has been ordered for the injured in the accident.
