New Delhi. Former India captain Virat Kohli is struggling with poor form these days. Since 2019, his bat has not scored a century. His last century with the bat came in the home Test series against Bangladesh in November 2021, he has been struggling with his form since then. Even in IPL, he could not do much with his batting. Former Pakistan cricketer Rashid Latif has given his reaction to his continuous poor form and has blamed the former head coach of the Indian team Ravi Shastri for his poor form.
What Rashid Latif said
Rashid Latif has alleged that Ravi Shastri is responsible for Kohli’s poor form. He said that “Shastri had never coached before. He was a broadcaster. I’m sure there must have been people other than Virat Kohli who played a role in bringing in Shastri. But it backfired, right? What if? Had he not become a coach, he (Kohli) would not have been out of form.”
Question on removal of Anil Kumble from coaching
Apart from this, Latif has also given his reaction to the removal of Anil Kumble from the coaching post. Latif said that “it was wrong to replace Kumble and replace Shastri as coach. It happened only because of Shastri”. Don’t know whether he had accreditation or not, I don’t know.
Kohli is on England tour
Currently, Virat Kohli is on a tour of England where he will play the 5th Test against England from July 1. The schedule of the Test to be played in September was changed due to Kovid-19. Team India is currently leading 2-1 in the 5-match series and will be eyeing to win the series. Virat Kohli will have to bat well in this match if India wants to capture the series. Apart from this, Kohli would also like to overcome the drought of his centuries through this match.
