Dehradun: The wait for the members of the Pushkar Singh Dhami cabinet is over. Chief Minister Dhami distributed portfolios to him on the seventh day after taking oath. Four of the five ministers of the previous government who were part of the new government have been given most of their old portfolios. All the departments of the only old minister Subodh Uniyal have been changed.
Chief Minister Dhami has kept 23 departments including Home, Excise, Industrial Development, Mining with him. He has shared many important departments with his colleagues. The three new faces in the cabinet have been assigned portfolios according to their political experience.
Each minister had a minimum of four departments. Chief Minister Dhami also gave preference to experience and seniority in the allocation of portfolios. There was also confusion about the allocation of portfolios to the ministers. The list issued for department allotment was stopped after an hour. Then late night, the list was issued by the Chief Secretary Dr. SS Sandhu with a duly notification.
The list of distribution of portfolios among the ministers was released to the media at 9.45 pm, but it was informed to stop after about an hour. Then it was told by the Chief Minister’s Office that there is a possibility of some changes in this list, so it has been stopped for the time being. However, the list released late night remained unchanged. No change was made in this, only the government issued notification of division of departments.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami: The young Chief Minister has kept many important departments including law and order, personnel issues with him. Chief Minister has Personnel and Vigilance, State Property, Information, Home, Revenue, Industrial Development and Mining, Labour, Information Technology and Science Technology, Drinking Water, Energy, Ayush and Ayush Education, Excise, Justice, Environment Protection and Climate Change, Disaster Management There are 23 departments including Rehabilitation and Civil Aviation.
Satpal Maharaj: Maharaj is also an important figure in the spiritual world. Their old departments like Tourism, Endowment, Culture, Irrigation and Minor Irrigation, Public Works have been retained. Their weight has been increased by giving Panchayati Raj, rural construction.
Premchand Agrawal: Agrawal, who is newly included in the cabinet, has been the speaker of the previous assembly. He has been entrusted with the portfolios of Finance, Urban Development, Housing, Legislative and Parliamentary Affairs, Reorganization and Census.
Ganesh Joshi: An ex-serviceman, Ganesh Joshi was handling departments like industrial development and MSME in the previous government. Agriculture and Agriculture Education and Rural Development have been given to them while retaining the Sainik Welfare Department.
Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat: Radha Rawat has been allotted School Education (Primary and Secondary), Sanskrit Education, Cooperation, Higher Education, Medical Health and Medical Education departments. Disaster Management Department has been removed from them, while primary and secondary education has been given additional. Dr. Rawat defeated State Congress President Ganesh Godiyal for the second time.
Subodh Uniyal: This time the Forest, Language, Election and Technical Education departments have been given to Uniyal. In the previous government, all the departments of Subodh, who handled agriculture, horticulture and related departments very well, have been changed this time.
Rekha Arya: While retaining the Department of Women Empowerment and Child Development, new departments like Food and Civil Supplies, Sports and Youth Welfare have been assigned. Rekha comes from Scheduled Caste and hails from Almora district.
Chandan Ram Das: Chandan Ram Das, who became a minister for the first time, was given the responsibility of heavy departments like social welfare, minority welfare, transport, small and micro, medium enterprises. He comes from scheduled caste.
Saurabh Bahuguna: Youth Minister Saurabh is the son of former Chief Minister Vijay Bahuguna. Saurabh, who won from Sitarganj seat of Udham Singh Nagar, a farmer-dominated district, has got animal husbandry, milk development and fisheries, protocol and skill development and employment departments along with sugarcane and sugar development.
