At the same time, Pallavi Patel has been fielded from Sirathu assembly seat of Kaushambi. She will contest against Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya.
The prominent name in the list of candidates of the Samajwadi Party released on Wednesday is that of Swami Prasad Maurya, a minister in the Bharatiya Janata Party government. Recently, he resigned from the BJP and joined the SP. SP has declared him a candidate from Fazilnagar assembly seat of Kushinagar. However, he won from Padrauna seat of Kushinagar in the 2017 assembly elections. SP has changed his ticket.
The Samajwadi Party has fielded Pallavi Patel of Apna Dal (Kamarawadi) from Sirathu seat in Kaushambi. This seat has gone to the account of the alliance of SP and Apna Dal Kameravadi. From here Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya is in the fray from the BJP ticket. Pallavi Patel is the national president of Apna Dal S and younger sister of Union Minister Anupriya Patel. At the same time, BSP has fielded Santosh Kumar Tripathi from this seat.
Samajwadi Party from Sarojininagar seat of Lucknow, former minister Prof. Abhishek Mishra has been nominated as the candidate. Here Rajeshwar Singh from BJP and Rudradaman Singh Bablu from Congress are candidates. In such a situation, between the two Thakur candidates, the SP has played the Brahmin card by changing its potential candidate at the last minute, keeping the caste equation. Pro. Abhishek Mishra had contested the 2012 and 2017 elections from Lucknow North Vidhan Sabha. From this seat, SP has now fielded Pooja Shukla as its candidate.
