Melbourne. Ahead of the second day’s play of the third Test match of the Ashes series at the MCG here, there was panic in the England camp as four members of the camp were found infected with Corona. Before the second day of the Boxing Day Test match, two members of the England team’s support staff and two family members were found infected with Corona. In such a situation, the England team had a rapid antigen test before leaving the hotel for the stadium.
The report came 45 minutes before the second day’s play of the Melbourne Cricket Ground ie MCG Test match and then the Test match could start. However, the second day’s play started with a delay of half an hour, as the corona report had not come and the players were also not allowed to go on the field. As soon as the report came, they got permission for the warm-up and then the match was started with a delay of 30 minutes at 11 am local time.
A statement said, “Cricket Australia has been informed that two members of the England cricket team’s support staff and two members of their family have tested positive for the rapid antigen test of Kovid 19. Corona infected persons are currently isolated. The entire sports group and all other support staff have done rapid rapid antigen tests this morning and all have been found to be negative.”
The England team will undergo an RT-PCR test today and all players are going to take extra precautions throughout the day of the match. Apart from this, a member of the support staff of Broadcaster Seven Network has been found to be Corona positive in this Test match released at Melbourne Cricket Ground. This member was part of the commentary team, which has now been isolated.
