Lucknow. The wait for the distribution of free smart phones and tablets to the youth of Uttar Pradesh is about to end. On the birthday of Bharat Ratna and former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, the Yogi government is going to gift free smart phones and tablets to the youth. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will launch the free smart phone and tablet distribution scheme on December 25. In the first phase, CM Yogi will give free smart phones and tablets to one lakh final year youths at Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Stadium in Lucknow. A large number of students and girl students from every district of the state will participate in the program.
CM Yogi Adityanath has announced to give free smart phones and tablets to one crore youth to upgrade them technically. Under this scheme, in the first phase, on December 25, CM Yogi will distribute 60 thousand mobiles and 40 thousand tablets. This is happening for the first time in the history of the country that such a large number of youth are being given free smart phones and tablets. Never before have such a large number of free smart phones and tablets been distributed anywhere.
In the first phase of the free smart phone and tablet distribution scheme, students of MA, BA, BSc, ITI, MBBS, MD, BTech, MTech, PhD MSME and skill development etc., who are studying in the final year, will be given priority. Kumar Vineet, Special Secretary, IT and Electronics Department said that more than 38 lakh youth have been registered on Digi Shakti portal. Student registration is still going on.
The largest order ever on the Gem Portal: Order has been issued by the UP government for the supply of free smart phones and tablets to well-known companies like Lava, Samsung and Acer. The companies will start the supply before December 24. The special thing is that in order to make the procurement process transparent and fair, the largest order has been issued on the GeM portal so far.
Supply of 18 lakh mobiles and tablets soon In this, orders have been placed for 1.5 lakh mobiles at the rate of Rs 10,740 and 7 lakh 20 thousand tablets at the rate of Rs 12,606. A total of about 18 lakh smart phones and tablets are going to be supplied by the companies soon.
