New Delhi. Royal Challengers Bangalore have retained their former captain Virat Kohli for the Indian Premier League 2022. Before leaving the captaincy this season, Virat Kohli had said that he will remain a part of RCB as long as he plays in this league. RCB also said that Virat Kohli will be part of the team as a senior player and once again Virat Kohli will be seen in the jersey of this team in the next season. Virat Kohli was retained by RCB for Rs 15 crore and he remained at number one in the list of players to be retained.
Apart from Virat Kohli, RCB has also roped in Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxwell and Indian fast bowler Mohd. Siraj has been retained in his team. Glenn Maxwell was placed second among the retained players and he would be given a salary of Rs 11 crore, while Mohd. Siraj was retained for Rs 7 crore. This time four players were to be retained, but RCB placed their bets on all three who will be seen playing for this team in the next season as well.

This time there are 90 crores for auction of players in the purses of all the teams, so after retaining these three players, RCB spent 33 crores. Now this team can spend 57 crores in the mega auction of IPL 2022. On the other hand, former RCB captain Virat Kohli said that the journey with RCB so far has been very good and I am sure that the best is yet to come.
