Kanpur. Wriddhiman Saha played an important unbeaten 61 for the team in the second innings of the Kanpur Test match in odd conditions for Team India. Team India’s batting coach Vikram Rathor praised Saha for this innings and said that he is an ideal team player and can be depended on for difficult tasks. However, it is unfortunate that he will have to play this role only in the absence of India’s number one wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant. Saha (37 years) is the oldest player in the current Indian team, playing his 39th match since his debut 11 years ago.
Mahendra Singh went on to become Dhoni’s replacement for the first five years after Saha’s debut and is now the 24-year-old’s ‘back-up’. On Sunday, Saha scored an unbeaten 61 while batting with a neck stiffness. Batting coach Rathod said on questions about the veteran wicketkeeper, “He had a tightness in his neck and knowing that he is a perfect team player, he will do what is needed. He said, “He will do difficult things for the team and the position the team was in at that time, he played a very important innings. ,
Vikram Rathod said that we always expect the same from him. He has always been someone we can trust and today he has shown why. Rathod said that as far as he is concerned, unfortunately we have a very special player Rishabh Pant who is the number one wicketkeeper for us and he has done exceptionally well for us over the years. He said that his role (at number two) is that when Pant is not available, then only we will need him.
