New Delhi: It has been decided to withdraw all the three agricultural laws which have been in dispute for more than a year. In his address to the nation, PM Modi announced the withdrawal of all three agricultural laws and appealed to the protesting farmers to end the agitation, but farmer leader Rakesh Tikait is still in no mood to end the agitation. Bharatiya Kisan Union leader Rakesh Tikait said that the farmers’ movement will not end. Along with this, he also made a demand from the government.
Soon after PM Modi’s announcement, Rakesh Tikait tweeted and said, ‘The movement will not return immediately, we will wait for the day when agricultural laws will be repealed in Parliament. Along with the MSP, the government should also discuss other issues of the farmers. At the same time, in a conversation with TV channel Aaj Tak, Rakesh Tikait said that he has just indicated. The decision will be taken only when it is withdrawn from the Parliament. Apart from this, the government should also talk on the issues of MSP and electricity law. On the question of not having faith in PM Narendra Modi’s words, Rakesh Tikait said that I still do not believe. We are not going to go back anywhere until a proposal to withdraw the law is tabled in Parliament on the 29th.
After Prime Minister Modi’s announcement, Joginder Singh Ugrahan, leader of the Bharatiya Kisan Union Ugrahan faction, said, “The decision to repeal the agriculture law on Guruparb is a good step by the Prime Minister. “All the farmers’ unions will sit together and decide on the way forward,” he said. Let us inform that farmers have been protesting on the borders of Delhi for more than a year and were demanding the repeal of these three agricultural laws.
Here on Friday, on the occasion of Guru Nanak Jayanti, the Prime Minister said that in my public life of five decades, I have experienced the difficulties and challenges of farmers very closely. He said that the agriculture budget has been increased five times, with more than Rs 1.25 lakh crore being spent every year.
PM Modi said that his government has failed to explain the benefits of three new agriculture laws to a section of farmers despite all efforts. He said that the aim of these three agricultural laws was empowerment of farmers especially small farmers. He announced that these three laws would be repealed and a bill for this would be brought in the upcoming session of Parliament.
