Lucknow. Justice Rajesh Bindal took the oath of office and secrecy as the Chief Justice of the Allahabad High Court at the Raj Bhavan in Uttar Pradesh on Monday. Governor Anandiben Patel administered the oath of office and secrecy to him. On this occasion, CM Yogi Adityanath also congratulated the Chief Justice at the Gandhi Hall of Raj Bhavan.
Newly appointed Chief Justice of Allahabad High Court Rajesh Bindal was administered the oath by Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel at Gandhi Auditorium of Raj Bhavan, Lucknow. State Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath was also present on the occasion. CM Yogi Adityanath also congratulated him. Governor Anandiben Patel administered the oath to him at 11 o’clock in the day at Raj Bhavan. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, his cabinet colleagues and senior administrative officials were also present during this.
Acting Chief Justice of Calcutta High Court Rajesh Bindal has been appointed as the Chief Justice of Allahabad High Court. This appointment has been made by President Ram Nath Kovind. A notification to this effect has been issued by Rajinder Kashyap, Additional Secretary, Government of India. Chief Justice Rajesh Bindal was born on 16 April 1961 in Ambala, Haryana. After graduating law from Kurukshetra University, he started law work in Punjab and Haryana High Court from September 1985. While advocating, he was a party to the Haryana government in the ED Tribunal in the Sutlej Yamuna dispute on behalf of the state of Haryana. Along with this, on behalf of the Provident Fund, Income Tax Department and other important departments, he used to represent the government in the High Court.
He took oath as a judge in the Punjab and Haryana High Court on 22 March 2006. He had settled about 80000 cases before being transferred from here. Transferred from Punjab Haryana High Court, became Acting Chief Justice of Jammu and Kashmir High Court. After this, he was simultaneously acting Chief Justice of Ladakh and Jammu and Kashmir. After his transfer from Jammu and Kashmir, he took over as the Acting Chief Justice of the Calcutta High Court on 5 January 2021. After this, on 29 April 2021, Chief Justice was made in the Kolkata High Court. Till now, Justice MN Bhandari was looking after the work of Acting Chief Justice in Allahabad High Court.
