The accident happened in front of Galgotias University on the expressway on Friday night.
Dankaur. A speeding canter rammed into a parked car on Yamuna Expressway late Friday night near Galgotias University. Four people including the car driver were seriously injured in the accident. Police and expressway personnel admitted the injured to a hospital in Greater Noida, where doctors declared the car driver brought dead. At the same time, three other injured are undergoing treatment at the hospital.
Originally, Mohammad Naeem, a resident of Sikandrau district Hathras, had gone to attend an event in Ghaziabad with his wife and sister-in-law. He was on his way back home after attending the program late on Friday night. The car was being driven by Farooq resident Sikandrau. As soon as his car reached near Galgotias University, only then there was a puncture in the car. The driver stopped the car on the side and started changing the tire by taking out the tyres. Then the canter coming from behind hit the car. The driver did not stop after the accident and fled from the spot with a canter. Expressway personnel and police reached the information and admitted the injured Farooq and three women Ruby, Reena and Muskan to the hospital, where Farooq died during treatment. At the same time, the treatment of the injured women is going on. In this regard, Naeem has filed a case against unknown canter driver at Dankaur Kotwali. Police is looking for the driver on the basis of the registration number of the canter.
Crash beams are being installed to prevent accidents
All measures are being taken to prevent accidents on Yamuna Expressway. The company managing the expressway is installing crash beam barriers on either side of the divider. Due to this, no vehicle will be able to go in the other lane after the accident. Gujarat based company is doing this work. It will take 8 to 10 months to complete this work. This work is being done at a rapid pace. It is expected that with the installation of crash beams, accidents will come down.
