Lucknow. Flowing dead bodies in a river, drain or pond will now have to pay a fine of up to Rs 3000. A large number of such incidents were seen during the Corona period, after which the government has made a provision of fine in the rules to strictly prohibit such incidents.
A provision has been made to impose a fine of Rs 500 in Nagar Panchayats, Rs 1000 in Nagar Palika Parishad, Rs 2000 in Municipal Corporations with a population of up to six lakhs and Rs 3,000 in Municipal Corporations with a population of more than six lakhs.
A provision has also been made to impose a fine of up to Rs 5000 for spreading infectious diseases due to water logging in the house. Arrangements have been made to impose a fine of Rs 4000 in municipal corporations with a population of less than six lakhs, Rs 3000 for those living in Nagar Palika Parishad and Rs 2000 in nagar panchayats.
In order to keep the cities clean and waste management, the state government is going to implement the Uttar Pradesh Solid Waste (Management, Operation and Sanitation) Rules 2021 in the urban bodies. With the implementation of the rules, those who work in the urban bodies on a large scale will get employment.
Urban bodies will connect the people doing the work of junk. Bodies will also be able to increase their income by selling the junk that will come out of the waste. Various measures have also been taken to reduce pollution in the manual. Urban bodies will be able to collect fine on the spot from the polluters.
Arrangements have also been made in the manual for the safety of sanitation workers. Rules have been made to give them adequate safety equipment. A fine of up to five thousand rupees will be imposed on the contractor concerned for getting the cleaning workers to work in the septage, dirty drain or manhole without safety equipment. In the cities of Nagar Panchayat, this fine has been kept at two thousand rupees. Along with this, every year two thousand rupees will also be given for the uniform.
