Lucknow. Silence speaks more than words. Believing something similar, Congress General Secretary and Uttar Pradesh in-charge Priyanka Vadra gave a silent expression to the protest against the alleged anarchy of the Yogi government in the Panchayat elections. After a year and a half, Priyanka, who reached Lucknow on a two-day tour on Friday, sat on a dharna on a dharna after paying floral tributes at the statue of Mahatma Gandhi at GPO Park in Hazratganj against the coercion and anarchy in the Panchayat elections. After sitting on the dharna for about two and a half hours, she reached the State Congress Committee office where she broke her silence in front of the media. Saying that this silence was to attract the attention of the country and the people of the state that the constitution is being destroyed in Uttar Pradesh, democracy is being ripped apart. She has come to speak in favor of democracy and in support of the people.
Priyanka gave a political message symbolically by holding a silent dharna at the statue of the Father of the Nation, a priest of non-violence and a hero of civil disobedience. His message also became important because a meeting of the BJP State Working Committee was going on in the BJP state office on the other side of the road, very close to the Gandhi statue site, in which Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath was also attending.
In the State Congress Committee office, Priyanka Vadra said that on Thursday in Varanasi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given a certificate to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for doing a great job in the second wave of corona infection. He also said that now developmentalism is going on in UP. Priyanka asked what kind of development is it that in the second wave of Corona, the government conducted panchayat elections, in which a large number of people got infected and a large number of teachers lost their lives.
Priyanka said that the government conducted the elections because it thought that it would win, but when it did not happen, it spread violence in the district panchayat president and block chief elections. The police picked up the candidates, the nomination papers of the candidates were torn. The administration continued to threaten candidates and their supporters, women were beaten up, their clothes were pulled. Bullets and bombs went off. Ever since this government came, democracy is being attacked like this. Every effort is being made to destroy democracy. The government was thinking that the public would remain silent and the opposition too, but we have come to raise our voice against it.
Shocked the Congressmen too: Priyanka Vadra surprised even the Congressmen by giving a silent dharna. At 3:30 pm, senior Congress leaders stood in line to receive him in the portico of the State Congress Committee office building. Everyone was eagerly waiting for his arrival that after some time it was announced that Priyanka has sat on a dharna at the Gandhi statue site against the policies of the government. After this, the crowd of Congressmen marched from the PCC office towards Hazratganj, while the senior leaders sat inside the room and waited for their leader.
