Lucknow: The already ongoing discussions of expansion of the Yogi cabinet and some reshuffle have now gained more momentum. If the reshuffle of the Modi cabinet takes care of the upcoming assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, then the balance of caste-class or region left from the center can be further improved in the team of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Seven seats are already vacant and the ‘Modi model’ of over 70 years of age and poor performance in the Union Cabinet reshuffle may also make room for some seats.
According to the standards, there can be a total of 60 members in the Yogi cabinet, whereas at present there are only 53 including Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. These include 23 cabinet ministers, nine ministers of state (independent charge) and 21 ministers of state. In this way, the place of seven ministers is directly vacant. Before the assembly elections to be held next year, by making new ministers on these seven seats, the government can give representation to any caste, class or area under the electoral strategy, without fear of any loss.
Along with this, the discussion of other possibilities has also intensified. It is believed that Modi also took the resignation of such ministers who are seventy years old or found weak in work, who are famous and veteran leaders. Following this line, the Yogi government can also show the way out to ministers who are 70 years old or have weak performance. In the circle around or above seventy, there are Cooperation Minister Mukut Bihari Verma, Milk Development, Livestock, Fisheries Minister Laxminarayan Chaudhary, Minister of State for Khadi and Village Industries and MSME Chaudhary Udaybhan Singh and Minister of State for Public Works Chandrika Prasad Upadhyay.
Sources say that even if he is not removed from the cabinet with the thought of not offending anyone with the elections approaching, then there is a strong possibility that he will not be given ticket in the next assembly elections. Some ministers who have been in controversies can also be shown the way out. In this way, all the seats that are vacant will be adjusted keeping in view the regional-caste balance.
It is easy to estimate the mathematics of the seven cabinet seats lying vacant now. In these, along with Rajbhar, Nishad and Brahmin, a Kshatriya can be given a chance. The inclusion of Praveen Nishad of Nishad Party in the Union Cabinet was almost certain. He did not get a place there, but to satisfy this ally, BJP can make Praveen’s father Sanjay Nishad a member of the Legislative Council and make him a minister. Similarly, an influential Rajbhar leader can also be made a minister.
There is talk of giving ministerial post by sending former Union Minister Jitin Prasad, who left Congress and joined BJP, in the Legislative Council. Yes, there is no woman minister in the Yogi cabinet since the late Kamalrani Varun from Corona. In view of this, according to the caste-regional equation, a woman can be made a cabinet minister. If not from the existing MLAs, one can fill this position by making someone from the organization as MLC. It is noteworthy that four seats of the Legislative Council are vacant from the nominated area.
