Rudrapur: VHB International Company based in Rudrapur SIDCUL is manufacturing 10,000 Amphotericin-B single dose injections to combat black fungus. The first batch of injections will be received on 27 May. At the same time, apart from Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Delhi have also contacted the drug controller and company of Uttarakhand for injections. At the same time, in view of the increasing demand, the drug controller has asked the company to keep at least five batches of raw material ready. So that there is continuity in production after the first batch.
Increased cases of black fungal disease among corona infections across the country have increased the demand for amphotericin. Licenses for this drug have also been issued to many pharma companies from the central government level. Some of whom have said to start production from June and July. In such a situation, the hope of other states has also increased due to the availability of 10,000 single dose injections by Rudrapur-based VHB company in Uttarakhand by 27 May.
According to the Drug Control Department, the government will buy all the 10,000 single dose injections of the first batch that is being prepared in Rudrapur. First the need of the state will be met. After this the demand coming from other states will be met. According to Senior Drug Inspector Udham Singh Nagar Sudhir Kumar, the company has just been asked to follow the instructions from the Drug Controller’s Office.
Drug controller Uttarakhand Tejwar Singh said that the drug controllers from Haryana, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh have approached to supply amphotericin-B injection. Considering the demand of other states, the demand of the first state will be met. Instructions have been given to the pharma company to keep raw materials ready for at least five batches.
Amit Negi, Health Secretary, Uttarakhand, says that there is no shortage of this medicine in the country right now. Uttarakhand has recently taken 500 doses from a company based in Ahmedabad. Center guidelines on drug delivery are awaited. Rudrapur-based VHB company had sent the demand for 15000 injections long back.
