Hyderabad The Anti Corruption Bureau in Telangana has arrested four panchayat officers for demanding and accepting bribes. The team has arrested four officials including Mandal Panchayat Officer and Gram Panchayat Secretary for demanding and accepting bribe of 7.5 lakh. The accused have been identified as Village Secretary J Geetha of Mansampalli Gram Panchayat, Village Deputy Sarpanch B Narasimha Yadav, Kandi Ramesh, husband of Village Sarpanch and Ma Srineshwaram Mandal Panchayat Officer G Srinivasulu.
Geeta, Yadav, and Ramesh were caught red-handed when they accepted a bribe of Rs 5.5 lakh at the Gram Panchayat office. Simultaneously, Srinivasulu was also caught red handed, demanding bribe and taking bribe. He was caught by the authorities while taking a bribe of Rs 2 lakh in MPDO office. The bribe amount has been seized from the possession of the accused. All these were produced before the special court for ACB cases in Hyderabad. Further investigation is currently underway.
