new Delhi. The Delhi government has decided to release salaries of teachers of 12 colleges in Delhi. For the last 3 months, the teachers and other staff studying in these colleges have not received their salary. The process of releasing the salary of teachers has started from Wednesday. Delhi government has released a grant of Rs 68.75 crore for the salary of teachers. All these 12 colleges of Delhi University are funded by Delhi Government. Basically, the salary is given for 3 months till October, November and December. Apart from this, a separate grant of adjustment has been given.
The Delhi Teachers Association (DTA) met Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on the issue of salary of teachers. During this meeting, Deputy Chief Minister and Education Minister of Delhi Manish Sisodia assured that the colleges in which Delhi has become the governing body of the Government. Also, the government will release the salary for those colleges in which the Delhi University administration will send the names of its members.
The grant released by the Delhi government is from October to December. The colleges that are being issued grants include Bhimrao Ambedkar College, Shaheed Rajguru College of Applied Science, Indira Gandhi Physical Education, Maharaja Agrasen College, Bhaskaracharya College, Acharya Narendra Dev College, Maharishi Valmiki College, Keshav College, Deendayal Upadhyaya College, Bhagini Nivedita College, Aditi College, Shaheed Sukhdev College. In most of the colleges of Delhi Government has become the governing body of the government.
A total of 68.75 crore rupees have been given by the government to these 12 colleges funded by the Delhi government. This amount is salary from October to December.
These 12 colleges of Delhi government have between 50 and 60 per cent adhoc teachers, guest teachers and contractual employees. The DTA, Dean of Colleges has also held a dialogue between Dr. Balaram Pani and the government to demand the release of grants from colleges of Delhi Government.
Professor Hansraj Suman, in charge of the DTA, has told that adhoc teachers, contractual staff, guest teachers of 12 fully funded colleges of Delhi government were facing economic crisis due to lock down and covid in front of guest teachers.
Dr. Narendra Pandey, vice-president of DTA said, “Most of these teachers and staff live in rented houses, under stress due to not filling their EMIs, car installments, etc. on time. He felt happy when the salary was released Are. “
