Rishikesh. In the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Rishikesh, efforts are being made in the direction of organ transplant including heart, kidney, liver. The team of Sanjay Gandhi PGI Lucknow reached AIIMS Rishikesh and took stock of all the preparations related to the organ transplant. During this time all arrangements were found to be favorable. Organ transplant work will be started at AIIMS after releasing the report from the team.
AIIMS Hrishikesh started preparations to join the highest organ transplant organization in the country from June this year. The National Organ and Tissue Transplant Organization had issued permission to AIIMS in this regard. Organ transplant was planned at AIIMS since inception. In this sequence, AIIMS administration had formed two teams in June and asked them to prepare the report. Since then, the team was working continuously in this direction. It is to be noted that due to lack of organ transplant facility in AIIMS Rishikesh, the needy countries are dependent on large medical institutions. Permission was to be obtained from the State Organ and Tissue Transplant Organization. However, it has not been formed in Uttarakhand. So, this is also believed to be a major reason for the delay in the work of organ transplant in AIIMS. AIIMS has adequate facilities of expert physicians and expert staff along with organ transplant facilities. For this, there is not much delay in this task, for this the AIIMS administration demanded the Uttarakhand government that the institution should be given the right to Soto. On the request of the state government, the team of Sanjay Gandhi PGI Lucknow arrived here on Saturday to take stock of the transplant facility and preparation at AIIMS. The team included Dr. Aneesh Srivastava, Head of the Department of SGPGI, Urology and Dr. Narayan Prasad, Head of the Department of Nephrology. The team reviewed all the units and sections related to organ transplant.
AIIMS Rishikesh Director Prof. Ravikant said that the special team of SGPGI Lucknow tested the modern OT and other facilities here. The team looked quite satisfied with the arrangements. Special isolation is made here for the patient after transplant. It will now start with two beds. Organ transplant facility will be started here after the team reports.
