Canberra The three-match T20 International series is going to begin between India and Australia from today on Friday 4 December. The first match of the series will be played at the Manuka Oval ground in Canberra. Earlier in the ODI series played by hosts Australia 2-1, the Indian team was dusted off. In such a situation, this T20 series is going to be interesting. Meanwhile, the Indian team management has confirmed which players will not play in this series.
Before the T20 series and the match in Canberra, the team management has made it clear that the players who have been selected for the T20 series will be part of this series. This means that fast bowler Shardul Thakur, spinner Kuldeep Yadav and opener Shubman Gill will not be able to play in this series. However, he remains with the team as a backup and will not be able to play unless a player is injured. These three players were selected in the ODI team.
By winning the last ODI against Australia, the Indian team has a chance to maintain the winning momentum, while Virat Kohli & Co.’s confidence will also be up because India’s T20 record is quite good against Australia. India has played nine matches in Australia so far, of which India has won five times. Even a single T20 series India has not lost in Australia.
India have a separate team for T20, but 14 of the 16 players are the same who were part of the ODI team. Deepak Chahar and Washington Sundar are the two new names in the T20 team. On the other hand, there is no new name for Australia. The Australia Cricket Board had chosen the same team for the ODI and T20 series. However, Darcy Short was later added to the team as a backup to David Warner.
